Tortoises can often be little escape artists, always finding new ways to leave their habitat or yard. Below are some strategies to help prevent your tortoise from escaping and to help ensure a quick reunion if they ever become lost.
- Microchip your tortoise
- Place a small strip of adhesive on the tortoise’s shell with your phone number
- nstall cameras in the backyard or side yard
- Install proper gate barriers
- Add signage to gates to alert neighbors, landscapers, or guests about the tortoise
